Sharia Mutual Funds have a cleansing feature, where income that does not comply with Sharia principles is removed and allocated to charity. Risk may also be relatively lower because companies included in the Sharia Securities List (DES) must have debt below their assets. In addition, Sharia Mutual Funds are supervised not only by OJK but also by the Sharia Supervisory Board (DPS).

Sharia Mutual Fund investing is open to everyone and is not limited to Muslims.
